Yesterday, I shared the start of my journey into becoming an AI Security Engineer. Today, I want to take a step back and reflect on how my experiences and interests have shaped this path and why I’m so passionate about combining AI and cybersecurity.
Who Am I?
I’ve always been fascinated by the interplay between humans and technology. During my undergrad, I explored artificial intelligence and machine learning through coursework, gaining foundational knowledge that has stayed with me. In my professional roles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools like SIEM, SOAR, and XDR platforms, many of which leverage machine learning to enhance decision-making.
From automating mundane tasks to analyzing complex security incidents, I’ve seen firsthand how AI can transform cybersecurity workflows. These experiences have solidified my belief that AI isn’t just a tool, it’s a companion.

Why AI Security?
AI’s potential in cybersecurity is immense, but it comes with challenges. Threat actors are also leveraging AI, creating adversarial systems and developing attacks like AI prompt injections. These evolving threats require security professionals who understand how AI works and how to defend against its misuse.
For me, this isn’t just about learning tools or theories, it’s about building a bridge between automation and intuition. I’m excited to explore how AI systems can learn, adapt, and partner with us to create safer digital environments.
My Goals for This Journey
- Develop Hands-On Expertise: Beyond theoretical knowledge, I aim to master practical tools and techniques in AI security. This includes diving deeper into SOAR platforms, experimenting with ML-driven threat detection, and exploring new technologies.
- Build a Digital Companion: One of my long-term goals is to create an AI assistant that can help with cybersecurity tasks. A blend of automation and creativity that mirrors the digital pets and systems I loved in my youth.
- Share and Learn: I want this journey to be collaborative. By documenting my progress, I hope to connect with others who are navigating similar paths and learn from their experiences.

Looking Ahead
The road to becoming an AI Security Engineer isn’t straightforward, but it’s one I’m eager to travel. As I dive deeper into this journey, I’ll be sharing the insights, challenges, and successes I encounter along the way. If you’ve worked with AI in cybersecurity or are curious about the field, let’s connect!
Here’s to another step forward in understanding and shaping the future of AI in security. Stay tuned for Day 3!
